El Paso, TX — Ascarate Park will be noticeably quieter this spring as organizers of the Big El Paso Fair have announced the event will not take place in 2026, with plans already underway for its return in 2027.
“Due to unforeseen scheduling challenges, we will not be able to produce the Big El Paso Fair this year,” said Steven White, one of the event’s organizers. “However, we are
committed to bringing the fair back in 2027, bigger and better for the El Paso community.”
A staple springtime attraction in the Borderland, the Big El Paso Fair has drawn thousands of attendees each year with its mix of thrill rides, carnival attractions, food vendors, live entertainment, and family-friendly experiences. Organizers noted that logistical issues related to securing and transporting attractions in time for the originally planned late March through mid-April dates contributed to the decision.
The team is currently working closely with county officials to confirm dates for the 2027 return.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2027 with new rides, new experiences, and an even stronger event,” White added.
